Bite Prevention and First Aid at Lucila Franco Community

Posted in: Clinics and Workshops, Humane Education, In the News

The children of the Lucila Franco Community in Vieques received an orientation about dog bite prevention and first aid care after a bite. With lots of enthusiasm they helped each other demostrate how to properly care for a wound. Also, they prepared their own first aid kit. This activity is one of many that have been brought directly to communities in Vieques, in collaboration with Proyecto REDES.
The idea is to promote the humane treatment of animals, proper pet care and provide them the tools they need to care for the animals in their community. While most of these activities are focused on children, many adults approach us to participate and learn from our resources.
