Humane Education in the Community

Thanks to the collaboration with the REDES program from the Department of Family, JUNTOS shared some time with the young, and not so young, from the Lucila Franco Community. We sat on the floor, barefooted, just like home, and spoke of basic pet care and needs. Some shared cute stories of their pets and some even brought them over to proudly show them off. Since there are many animals in this community, education and prevention is key to promote a compassionate, responsible and violence free environment. This is the first of many Humane Education activities that will take place in different “at risk” communities in Vieques.
